MAY 2008 SPRING NEWSLETTER

L E T T E R  F R O M  T H E  P R E S I D E N T

Well, my final word in the newsletter last fall was a thought of the water back at pool in the spring. We have our wish, it is at pool and was over our dock about five times in early spring. For those of you who did not make it to the lake in the winter, one of the times the lake froze over, I measured it at six inches but we didn’t ice skate as it wasn’t frozen long. We observed many ducks this winter that were migrating, and not normally in this area ,and it was a real pleasure to record them in our book and Brenda has many pictures to substantiate their presence. We have also been blessed with our Baltimore Orioles visiting already this spring but have not located their nest what beautiful birds.

You should have received your dues invoice this past week. In my letter last fall, I asked your feedback of issues and/or complaints that your Board could address and have heard very little. In that sense, I make the request again as I would like your help in conversations with your neighbors to invite them to join our association. If there is a reason why they will not join, or, any reason that you would hesitate to ask them to join, your Board would like to know the problem. It is so much easier for me and other Board members to address the City, County, Fish & Wildlife, Lake Expansion Committee, or any other entity, when you have a vast majority of the property owners as members of the association. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.  Come on out and grab a pull to start off the season!

Directions to the Guenther II lake house by water:
If you are @ Ruby’s Dock/the Spillway - head towards the Ebner’s place. Directly across the lake from the front of the Ebner’s dock, we are just off that point. If you know Craig Butler’s place-he has the Wellcraft that is always backed into his dock, we are two docks towards the Beach Bar from Butler’s on the main lake. Read the rest of this entry »

Something to keep in mind when building or repairing property

March 22nd, 2007 Posted in News | 1 Comment »

As we head into another season it is important to remember that as in most municipalities the property owner is responsible for obtaining the proper permitting for any construction or repair projects that may be completed on their property. In our situation this may include proper dock permits, proper construction permits for decks, sheds, garages etc… Please contact County and/or City officials prior to beginning construction. It could very easily save you a great deal of trouble.
